Lead HV Electrical Engineer
Our client is looking for a Lead HV Electrical Engineer with strong design experience of offshore High Voltage Transmission Equipment and Network Engineering (HVAC/HVDC) with good practice of the European transmission and distribution of High Voltage electricity regulations including sizing of HVB equipment and long-distance power transmission cables.
Your scope will cover all the markets in which our client is present: primarily Marine Renewable Energies (offshore substations) as well as Conventional energies (upstream gas and oil, reduction of GHG emissions from installations, offshore and onshore) and New energies (Hydrogen, ammonia, e-fuels and CCUS, offshore and onshore).
Your area of responsibility will encompass the support of the Doris Business development team in securing new offshore engineering projects as well as the development of the discipline.
Engineering Projects
You will be involved in a wide range of projects from conceptual to detailed study phases with a wide variety of activities including:
- Definition of the electrical network architectures of the facilities
- The design of HVAC and/or HVDC offshore, onshore, submarine and onshore links, in the context of renewable energy production projects (wind, hydrogen) or offshore HVDC interconnection.
- Supplier technical follow-up including the preparation of quotations, technical clarifications and the review of supplier data for High Voltage equipment and cables
- Technical support for business activities
As part of a project team, you will be in charge of the electrical studies carried out and the follow-up of the subcontracted studies with direct communication with our customers. You will also ensure the technical coordination of the project team on the electrical part as well as the interface with the customer teams.
You will be in contact with and cooperate with other technical departments (process, mechanics, electricity, instrumentation, control systems, 3D modeling, etc.) as part of your responsibilities on the project.
Discipline Development
As a Senior HV Electrical Engineer, you will help maintain the level of knowledge of the discipline. This includes participation in R&D activities through internal studies, the development of engineering tools, the monitoring of regulatory developments and the development of the HTB technical reference system.
Profile:
- Bac +5 Master's or Engineering training with a focus on electrical or electrical engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in High Voltage electrical engineering
- Experience in renewable energy or transmission network projects
- Fluent in English - Good writing and verbal communication
- Good knowledge of applicable regulations, codes of practice, international standards
- Good knowledge of Power Factory software (DigSILENT) or other network calculation software required
